Su Ann

Jacana, Hume, VIC

Hi, my name is Su Ann. I’m a Diploma Qualified Educator and have over 9 years of working experience in several childcare and OSHC services. I also have a Diploma in Community Services and have nine months of experience working in homelessness services.

I offer a welcoming, warm, and friendly indoor/outdoor environment, catering to the needs of children of various ages, skills, and requirements as well as a flexible routine aimed to maximise their strengths, build self-esteem and provide equal opportunity. My environment is safe, fun and educational, and promotes positive, rewarding relationships. The children can choose from a variety of educational experiences such as art/crafts, imaginative and pretend play, construction, messy play, and natural experiences such as water and sand. I like to take the children to playgroups, libraries, parks and other Educators’ homes for play dates.

I believe in teaching children to be kind, have courage, and also to be resilient when troubles occur. I engage with children in a loving way, because I believe all children thrive when they are loved and cared for while their parents leave them in my care. I also encourage all children to be polite to everyone and show generosity as well.

In my spare time, I love to hike at various locations across Melbourne. I’m a low-intermediate tennis player and play socially after work. I offer care from 7.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. I also offer a Chinese Program and a limited school holiday program catering to the siblings of booked 0-5-year-olds. All meals and nappies are included in my fee. Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

MAMMONE Angela.jpg

Angela

Pascoe Vale, Merri-bek, VIC

Hi my name is Angela and I have been a registered Family Day Care Educator since the year 2000. I am married with 3 adult sons. I like sewing, gardening, and keeping fit at the gym. I provide a safe, warm, caring and fun learning environment within a small group setting, where children can be, become, and belong.. Through a range of routines, activities, and outings, both indoors and outdoors, I extend children’s learning, development, independence, and build self-esteem. Through play children explore, experiment and use their imagination.

I implement a program that celebrates uniqueness, diversity, culture, respect and belonging. I aim to facilitate strong bonds and strive for ongoing communication with children, families, and Foundations FDC, which promote effective learning and social development. Children are able to explore their community and environment through the diverse program I offer.

I use an online program called Kinderloop. This is a simple and secure way to share information about the child’s day, including activities, routines, and learning stories, with their families and carers.

I offer care from 7am-5pm Monday-Friday. I am able to provide pick-up and drop-off to most pre-schools in Moreland. I also provide school holiday care for school-aged children. Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

HAMEED Dina.jpg

Dina

Coburg North, Merri-bek, VIC

Please note that Dina does not have availability for school-age children at this time. Contact our coordination unit to enquire about Dina’s waitlist.

I have been in the Early Childhood Industry since 1999, working in long day care in my native Norway as well as pre-school, long day care and last family daycare in Australia. My Norwegian upbringing of no bad weather, just bad clothing is heavily influencing my service. We rug up in full rain suits and play outside all year long.

My teaching philosophy is focus around strong belief in children as capable and our program evolve in partnership between children, families and myself. Children thrive and learn best when they feel safe and valued so a lot of time is spent on forming strong bonds and trust with me, between each child and teaching how to interact so everyone feel seen and heard.

A lot of our time is spent getting very messy with paint and mud.

I have a Bachelor of Early childhood education (1999) and a Master of Special education (2004)

I offer care from 7am-6pm Tuesday-Friday. My fees include nappies, and I am able to drop-off and pick-up from Coburg North Primary School. Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

Ryoko

Greensborough, Banyule, VIC

Hello, I'm Ryoko. I am a qualified childcare Educator (Cert III) and I am thrilled to have realised my dream of opening a Japanese Family Day Care.

As a mother of three Japanese children, living in Australia, I believe it is imperative to encourage and support a high level of Japanese language in a child's pre-school years. My daycare, Hinoki, is located in a beautiful, leafy pocket of Greensborough where can enjoy visiting local nature reserves and parks. We are also lucky to have fantastic libraries nearby, but I especially like Brown's Nature Reserve where we can meet kangaroos, observe butterflies and insects, and build natural tree houses. I want to be a part of the children's excitement, enthusiasm, and desire to learn. Curiosity is the beginning of learning. I will work with children to get excited, explore, expand, and deepen their learning.

My daycare is conducted as an immersive Japanese experience and it is essential that your child has a basic understanding of the language so that I can continue to extend their Japanese ability. Children will improve their Japanese and learn about Japanese culture through crafts and activities. Your child must be able to play with friends in Japanese as a condition of admission. I operate 9:30 am-2:30 pm Tuesday to Thursday. Please bring all necessary items such as food and nappies etc. Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

D'SOUZA, Anne.png

Anne

Bayswater, Knox, VIC

With my 22 years’ experience as a Family Day care Educator, I provide quality education and care for children in a welcoming and positive environment.

Within our small group of children, the needs of each child are recognised and they are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Each child is valued as individuals and over time, they develop self-confidence and a sense of belonging.

Children are given the opportunity to participate in activities that are fun as well as educational whilst also promoting their social skills and cooperation with others. Children engage in arts & crafts, music, puzzles, outdoor play as well as going to the park and much more. We also learn about respect for each other as well as our environment.

I consider families an important aspect of my program. Parents are encouraged to be involved and share in their child’s learning journey. I ensure that both the child and parent feel comfortable, knowing that they have a warm, safe and happy surrounding to which they can look forward to return.

My aim is to make my home a joyful place where children can be children, laughing, playing, learning, growing and having fun.

I offer care from 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

Then I joined Foundations Family Day Care and have continued with this service to this day. So all up TreeTots has been established for 17 years, providing high quality education and care for babies and young children. Julie

Healesville, Yarra Ranges, VIC

Julie won the Yarra Ranges & High Country Educator of the Year Regional Award in the Excellence in Family Day Care Awards 2020 & 2022.

Hi, my name is Julie.

I have two adult children, a mischievous cat named Blinx, and have run a Family Day Care program from my own home since 2006. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services (Early Education and Care). My program has won a number of awards, and I am thrilled to be bringing my expertise to Foundations.

I feel privileged to be able to share in the magical and precious early years with the children who come to play. As it is important to me that they feel safe, relaxed and happy while away from their parents, I actively work at making this feellike their home away from home. Central to this is the ethical, friendly, fun, and mutually respectful and collaborative partnerships I build between myself, the children, and families, and foster between the children themselves.

I view children as explorers and investigators, so my learning environments intentionally honour the state of childhood by promoting wonder, inquiry, curiosity, resilience and agency.

A typical day has opportunities and resources for the children to direct their own play, participate in routines around eating and resting, and may include a Kinder or school drop off or pick up. Children’s ideas and interests are extended with props or through recycled, natural, and other art & craft materials. There may be an educator-led activity based around a cultural, world or natural event. We might go for a walk, visit a local park or attend a story time session.

I offer care from 8am-5:30pm, Tuesday–Friday, and welcome children from 12mths–age 12. I may be able to provide kinder drop off/pick up to the local Preschools, depending on existing bookings. I also offer a limited school holiday care program, catering to the siblings of booked 0-5 year olds. All food and travel is included in my fee. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or enrol here.

Regional & Rural Victoria

Lateisha

Mildura, Mildura Rural City, VIC

I am Lateisha and I have over 7 years’ experience working in Early Childhood Education and Care. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

I am a proud foster mum to two beautiful boys aged 6 and 4. My partner, Josh, is a diesel mechanic and is often off exploring the countryside which he loves. When work/schooling allows, I love to go away with him and the kids to show them the beautiful land in which we live.

Over my years in Early Childhood Education, I have cared for children with a range of developmental needs, from a range of cultures and backgrounds, and have supported children and their families with throughout many of their early years transitions.

I have been lucky enough to partake in professional development sessions over the years broadening my skills and understanding around Language and Literacy (Jolly Phonics), emotional regulation tools (Kimochi program), and neurodevelopment in early years, which I plan to use in our day-to-day curriculum and play. I love opportunities to undertake Professional Development training, and I am regularly looking for new ways to learn and support the children and families in which I care for.

Through my experience as a foster carer, I am familiar with AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language), which I have used over the years to support children with various disabilities and communication needs. This is something I look forward to teaching and using with children in care as it is overall a useful tool to know.

We have a range of pets in our home and enjoy gardening and growing our own fruits and veg which will be a big focus in our curriculum at Kids Cave FDC.

Our family has 3 dogs. The older two are sisters and are 13 years old. They have only recently come to live with us as their owners have gone travelling. They have grown up in the Family Day Care environment as their previous ‘mum’ was an Educator in Sydney. We are also very much loving getting to know our new puppy, Louie, who is enjoying being a Family Day Care dog as well. Our 4 chooks are Marnie, Helen, Deandra, and Henny Penny. Children will have the opportunity to assist in helping feed the food scraps to them and help with the eggs. Lastly, we have Squirtle the turtle. Squirtle is positioned in our main learning environment and children will be able to watch her through the glass and assist in feeding her.

My operating hours are 6.30 am-5.30 pm Monday-Friday and can be flexible with families’ needs upon request.  Please contact our coordination unit for more details about my fees and availability, or enrol here.

Rebecca

Taradale, Mount Alexander, VIC

My Name is Rebecca and I live in the Shire of Mount Alexander on 7 acres. I live on our property with my husband Adam and two teenage daughters Lily and Niah. I have always had a love of children and I completed a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies (BECS) in 1998 and a Postgraduate in Early Learning in 1999. Before I had my children I was teaching in kindergartens in Nillumbik Shire, Banyule Shire, and Yarra Ranges Shire. I started my Family Day Care work in 2018 when I took over running our local Family Day Care which was situated in a primary school. I now run the daycare from my property as the school became too big to accommodate us.

I love to garden, get messy, and be outdoors. My program reflects my passions, which also include music. Music is a big part of my program; I always have some form of music playing as I believe it stimulates our brains and can influence behaviours.

The children have the opportunity to take walks on my property and investigate their surroundings. I live next door to alpacas which we visit frequently. We also visit other Family Day Care Educators and their children, as well as visiting the library for storytime.

My philosophy around teaching involves forming a bond or a partnership with each child and their families. I believe children need to feel a sense of belonging, feel safe, and be able to trust their Educator. Having small groups allows me to form close relationships with each child and I encourage families to be part of their child’s educational journey. I offer an inside/outside program allowing children to freely play between the two environments.

I offer care from 8.30am – 5:30pm Monday to Thursday. I close over school holidays as family time is important to me. I care for children 6 months to 5 years. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or join our waitlist here.

Sam

Huntly, Greater Bendigo, VIC

Hi, my name is Sam and I am a Certificate 3 qualified Educator.

My idea of Family Day Care is a caring, safe and warm environment for a small group of children to learn, have fun and make incredible memories. To be able to spend quality time with children, and get to know their interests and needs is what, I feel, being an Educator is all about.

Although no day will ever be the same, at Among the Gums Family Day Care you can expect lots of messy play, singing and dancing, tower building and whatever arts and crafts creations come from their little minds.

I like to be outside in the beautiful garden as much as possible. No matter the weather, I don’t believe there is a need to be cooped up inside all day.

I also love an excursion, whether that be to the local park, the bakery or the library story time.

My goal is to form meaningful, long-lasting relationships with not only the children in my care but also their families as they are the most important people in their lives. I believe open, honest communication is key and my aim is to make my home a place where children get excited to visit and spend time when they can’t be in their own home.

My hours of operation are as follows:

Monday 8:30am – 5:30pm

Tuesday 8:00am – 6:00pm

Wednesday 8:30am – 3:30pm

Thursday 8:00am – 6:00pm

Parents are to provide food and nappies for their children. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or join our waitlist here.

Antoinette

Goolwa North, Alexandrina, SA

Hi, I’m Antoinette. I am a mother to 5 children, 4 of my own and a wonderful 2 year old foster boy. I am a Cert III qualified child care worker, and began my childcare journey at the tender age of 17.

I have worked with kids my entire life, and have crossed many bridges in that time and have dealt with children from all walks of life.  I hold current certification in First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis.  I have opened up my lovely home in the tourist town of Goolwa in SA to families in the area to help with early education of a number of young wonderful children.  I believe in fostering a healthy learning environment, which is full of activities and learning utilising the coastal town to its fullest potential.  I encourage children to interact with each other in play and learning to ensure a harmonious environment for education.

I have developed a number of set excursions to keep the days and weeks interactive and interesting.  From visiting local playgrounds, to libraries and other local landmarks.

In the home, I will encourage active participation in activities such as vegetable gardens, music, arts and crafts, messy play, cooking and general hands-on play with a number of toys and interactive items.  I have a designated area which is for the exclusive use of the children in the Day Care, and that Toy Room has direct access to the outdoor play area as well.

My hours of operation are Monday – Friday, generally 8.30am – 5pm. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or enrol here.

Bec

Allendale, Grant, SA

Hey everyone,

My name is Rebecca, but you can call me Bec or Becci. I have been an Educator for 5 years now. This is my first year working in Family Day Care and I am so excited!

I have always had a passion for working with children. I completed my Diploma in Early Childhood then soon found myself travelling the countryside. I have volunteered in orphanages in Thailand and was a nanny in Ireland before working in a childcare centre in Australia. I have learnt that singing, dancing, playing and being with nature is the key to teaching, connecting and learning from our tiny humans.

I live in the small town of Port MacDonnell where I met my partner in the surf. We have 2 little boys, a dog called Henry, and a kitten called Jingle Bells. The ocean is our second home.

I believe that all children should have unhurried time to explore nature and be able to connect with the world around them. As an Educator and friend, I believe forming positive relationships with the children, their families, other Educators, and the community is the core of creating a warm and nurturing environment. I aim to have regular outings in the community with the children which will encourage them to gain a sense of belonging in the local and broader communities.

I believe children should be included in Acknowledgment of the Country on which we play and explore. I incorporate this into our day-to-day routine so the children understand the importance of this and refer to the Acknowledgment similarly to manners - just like saying “thank you for having me” if we were playing at somebody’s house for the day.

I am part of a nature playgroup which is on once a week and I can’t wait to bring along the children with me to let nature teach and guide them along the way as we brave the elements in rain, wind or shine!

I’m so excited to meet the families that I get to learn and grow with on this new and exciting Family Day Care journey! Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or enrol here.

Donna

Victor Harbour, Victor Harbour, SA

Hello, my name is Donna and I run Canterbury Kids Family Day Care from the beautiful seaside town of Victor Harbor.

I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and have been working in Long Day Care for over 10 years. During that time I have completed many trainings and developmental courses. A few include Circle of Security, Flourishing Babies and Toddlers, Everyday Research with Infants and Toddlers, and Incorporating Inclusive Strategies in the Early Years.

I decided to jump ship to Family Day Care because I loved the idea of a small group environment and the rich and wonderful learnings that can come from a home care setting.

I hope that my FDC can provide our community with a caring, nurturing and FUN space for their children to learn and explore freely and be the inquisitive little explorers that children are.

I offer regular excursions because I think it’s important to have community connections, and what better way to learn about our area than to get out and about in it… especially the muddy puddles!

I believe children learn best through play and an environment that supports their enquiries. This is why I offer a space that has been set up with intention, to extend and further their knowledge. As a child’s interest grows and changes, so will their learning spaces.

I offer care Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8-5:30. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or enrol here.

I hold a Certificate III in Children’s Services, current First Aid, Child Protection, Food Handlers, and Community Coach qualifications, as well as current National Police Check and Working with Children clearances.

My dedication, training, and experience ensure I will provide quality Early Years Education for your child in an atmosphere of fun, happiness, care, respect, and kindness, with a dedicated focus on building a respectful relationship with children and families in my care to co-construct curriculum, under the governance of Foundations Family Day Care and their entire dedicated team. This approach will ensure the best outcomes for your child can and will be achieved.

Our home is on 6 acres and the philosophy of Belle View Family Day Care is a nature-based approach to learning through outdoor and indoor activities, utilising our wide-open space so children can investigate, explore, play, learn, and have some serious fun.

I offer a delicious nutritious daily menu that encourages the children to explore food and nutrition, not to mention the joy of cooking and creating their own style of gastronomical splendour.

We will enjoy daily excursions into the community to further explore the world, local parks, art, and libraries, and on special occasions, you may find us at the local bakery enjoying a cake.

Rochelle

Murray Bridge, Murray Bridge, SA

Hey! I’m Rochelle and I live in Murray Bridge with my partner and 4 wonderful children! I’m Diploma Qualified (2017) and have over 9 years of experience in several different childcare centres. I have my First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR training along with RRHAN-EC (Child Protection training - Masterclass level).

My passion for nurturing, educating, and caring for children in a professional yet family-oriented manner whilst also being able to stay home with my own children is a dream come true! I truly believe children thrive once they’ve built strong, nurturing relationships with the people around them, which is always a big focus for me as an Educator. This is where ‘Watch Me Grow Family Day Care’ comes from!

Excursions to explore our wonderful community happen frequently, from the local playground/reserve a short 2-minute walk away, to our library which is only a 15-minute walk/2-minute drive away. Getting out in nature & using the natural environment as our learning environment is just magical! I enjoy encouraging positive relationships between children and watching them grow and learn together as a group, as well as individually.

During your child’s time here, they’ll get to enjoy a range of different activities including a grassed yard with endless potential for natural resources and an indoor space dedicated to playing and learning, separate from the main area of our house but with direct access to outdoors.

My operating hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. Please note that food and nappies are not included in my fees. Please contact our coordination unit for more information about my availability and fees, or enrol here.
